Moose
From Survival To Safety.
Moose is a Tosa Inu, a rare Japanese mastiff breed known for strength, loyalty, and presence. Before he became the quiet, watchful dog he is today, Moose was one of hundreds of dogs trapped in the dog meat trade in South Korea.
Rescued In Busan
In October 2024, K9 Global Rescue helped take part in a major rescue operation in Busan, South Korea, where approximately 580 dogs were saved from a dog meat farm. Moose was one of them.
He had been living in the kind of environment no animal should ever experience: confined, vulnerable, and facing an uncertain future in a trade built on suffering.
The Road To Safety
After the rescue, Moose and the other dogs were moved to safety at a sanctuary in South Korea, where the long process of recovery, care, and placement began.
Moose became one of the first dogs from that rescue to travel to the United States. He was flown from Seoul to Los Angeles, beginning a new chapter far from the cages and fear he had known.
Learning Safety
Moose's journey did not end when he landed in America. Like many dogs rescued from trauma, he needed time, patience, structure, and care.
He was nursed back to health and slowly began learning what safety felt like. Over time, his real personality started to show.
A New Life
Today, Moose is quiet, watchful, loyal, and deeply bonded to the people he trusts. He carries himself with the seriousness of a guardian, but underneath that strength is a gentle and thoughtful dog who was given the second chance he deserved.
Moose now lives a life of safety, love, routine, and dignity. His past will always be part of his story, but it no longer defines his future.
"Saving one dog will not change the world, but for that one dog the world will change forever."
Moose's story reflects K9 Global Rescue's mission to help animals in crisis move toward care, safety, and the chance to live without fear.
